about the artist

artist statement. My photographic work arises from a long-standing fascination with the world as it presents itself—quietly, unexpectedly, and often at the margins of attention. While photography accompanied me throughout a professional career outside the arts, retirement allowed me to fully commit to shaping this visual practice into a coherent artistic exploration.

At the core of my work lies the conviction that humanity is not separate from nature. Human craft—buildings, tools, traces of labor—should not be seen as intrusions upon the natural world, but as manifestations of it. As the species most deeply engaged in making, we produce forms that are no less natural than geological or botanical ones.

Through photography, I seek moments where this continuity becomes visible: where artefacts settle into landscapes, where material intervention finds balance rather than conflict. These images do not argue, but observe. They propose a view in which the division between nature and culture dissolves, revealing a shared, inseparable whole.

My work invites the viewer to pause and reconsider familiar environments, and to perceive harmony where opposition is often assumed
